When two seriously crushing black/death metal bands get together to release a split, it does not always include an 18 minute collaboration in addition to each's separate chapter. This split stands on its own as a dark and devastating experience.
Favorite track: APOSTASIS - Split track.
"Given time, even the strongest bone will succumb and shatter. And in the light of sovereign Death, even gods must submit.
Apostasis is a bastard of Devouring Star & Caecus, a collaboration in obscure Black and Death metal. An unlikely match in adversarialism.
The split consisting of three tracks, the A side: APOSTASIS, is a massive collaborative track between the two bands, more than 18 minutes in length. The B side consists of individual tracks from each of the acts involved, both streaming here on SoundCloud to give you an impression.
DS/C - Apostasis
Devouring Star - A Pale Monument
Caecus - Ascend to the Void
Total length: 27 minutes.
This album takes me to the darkest places. The whole vibe and overall feel of that album is that of absolute dread, but also beauty. The overall mix of death metal, black metal and some jazz is perfect and the album is unique and fresh. Waiting in anticipation of album 2! chiragrajagopal
