Like most people, I assume, first thought when playing this record was “what the hell is this madness??”. But there was always something there that made me repeat listen. After a while a whole world opened and it’s releases like this that keeps music interesting and unexplainable; you can’t even put your finger on what’s so great it just stirs up a storm of emotions and puts you in a certain state of mind. This record is truly the epitome of exactly this. Perhaps not for everyone, but when exactly was this genre meant for everyone? Sure, we entered “Hot Topic-Black Metal” era years ago, but that doesn’t mean the true gems doesn’t still occur.

Tout est une question de perspective. En regardant la pochette d'Algleymi, on se dira : "c'est un constat d'échec de l'humanité face aux puissances cosmiques". Mais le gigantisme de cette silhouette est un signe que Misþyrming veut plutôt s'emparer de cette puissance et le black metal le confirmera très vite. Il est plus maîtrisé, massif et épique. Si le chant est déjà impressionnant, dégageant plus de haine, les guitares sont de leur côté absolument monumentales. Un chef-d'œuvre du genre ! Jordan Vauvert
